Monk outlet

A monk is a type of pond draining structure. It is a vertical shaft located near the pond dike. The water overflows at the top over the sluice wall to the bottom of the shaft, from where it flows out through the outlet pipeline and the dike into the receiving body.
Monks are built at the bottom of the dike or directly into the pond dike.
